An unforeseen show of emotion, music and love towards the
motherland.
“My Golden Bengal, I love you” – the National Anthem of Bangladesh – is going to achieve the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ in this month of victory as the heroic children of this nation won the victory and got an independent and sovereign state ‘People’s Republic of Bangladesh’ on December 16, 1971.
Bangladesh has made Guinness World Record by singing the national anthem [Jatio Songeet] by more than 3,00,000 people at a time. The previous record was set by India by 1,21,653 people at Lakhnow. Bangladesh beat India by a large margin.
More than 3,00,000 people sang the melodious song by Ravindranath Tagore, “Amar Sonar Bangla, Ami Tomay Bhalobashi”. At that moment, whole Bangladesh was like a music heaven. Pakistani Military surrendared to Bangladesh on 16th December, 1971 at 4:31 p.m. That’s why we selected that moment on 16 December 2013 to sing this great song. Gonojagoron Moncho, the organization of Independent-loving youths arranged this event.
Not only the Bangladeshi people at home, but also people living abroad sang the anthem together at that time, watching the event live through television.
